Bernadette Allen

I’ve been attracted to Bernadette Allen’s work since discovering it through Gary Wilson. She was a graduate student at UCSD in San Diego when she met Gary over 30 years ago and soon after they had an experimental public access TV show (which they continued throughout the 80′s). I was fortunate enough to get a hold of some of the master video tapes recently through Gary. For the most part, her work has been largely unknown to the general public and until now, these videos have never been seen on the internet. She unfortunately passed away a year ago, but we celebrate her life and talents through these experimental works.

Cult Beauty – Jessica Harper

Jessica Harper, my former boss, has tried a bit of everything. Painting, singing, dancing, acting, and writing. From Femme Fatale to Dixie homemaker, she’s come full circle as a woman and creative mind. I’m most proud of her for her earlier cult films. Her classic Italian horror film Suspiria (also known for it’s amazing score by Goblin), has a 94% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes but still obscure to many. Talks of a remake have been floating around since 2005.

Another one of her films is “Phantom of the Paradise”. It gets compared to “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, but predates it and is much less known.

Then after almost being typecast as a horror film actress, she did the Woody Allen love story Stardust Memories.
